Production Solutions recently had the opportunity to present our latest achievement at the esteemed Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) event. We unveiled the Gas Compressor Package (A-WUUC) process system, an impactful solution that aims to refine production optimization strategies, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability.

In the dynamic landscape of the energy industry, innovation and collaboration play pivotal roles in optimizing production efficiency and ensuring operational safety. One such noteworthy collaboration is between Chevron Thailand and Production Solutions, marking a significant milestone in enhancing gas production capabilities through the implementation of cutting-edge technology.

Gas Compressor Package (A-WUUC) Process System:

The Gas Compressor Package (A-WUUC) process system, meticulously designed by Production Solutions, represents a paradigm shift in production optimization strategies. This groundbreaking system is engineered to amplify the production output of BXA wellhead platforms, setting new standards for operational efficiency and performance reliability.

The key advantages of fully automated systems in comparison with conventional/semi-automated systems are:

  • Higher uptime efficiency, no dependency on weather conditions.
  • Real-time production optimization enabled by the ability to remotely adjust processing parameters.
  • Minimum POB and logistics optimization.
  • Electrical motor driven system to enable decarbonization.
  • Reduction of overall OPEX.

    Technical Overview:

The system is capable to flow 2.0-4.0 MMSCFD of gas and 3,000-8,000 BPD of liquids. Auto-WUUC generates a minimum back pressure. Piping system and equipment are hooked up on the platforms with ease and flexible installation including Production Manifold, Production Separator, Gas Compressor Packages and Transfer Pumps.

The A-WUUC process is designed to separate and online measure the flow of each fluid phase. Flash gas from Production Separator is sent to Gas Compressor Package to boost up pressure for gas lift.

Excess gas is automatically vent out in case of compressor shutdown or too much gas incoming from wells.

Liquids from Production Separator are sent to Transfer Pumps controlled by adjustable VFD or automated level control. High pressure liquids and re-compressed gas are combined before sending to the main pipeline.  The control system of A-WUU and all electrical, field instrument devices and equipment have complied with hazardous Zone 2 requirements.

    Conclusion:

The collaboration between Chevron Thailand and Production Solutions exemplifies the power of collaboration in driving transformative change within the energy industry. Through the implementation of the Gas Compressor Package (A-WUUC) process system, both entities have demonstrated a shared commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable resource management.

As the industry continues to evolve, such collaborative efforts will remain instrumental in shaping the future of energy production and advancing towards a more efficient and resilient energy landscape.
